Poulettes’ Blog Hop #9 : Shutter Card – Valentine’s Day

Hello!

Today the Poulettes have decided to take up a challenge: create a shutter card. It looked like something fun to make, so everybody wanted to give it a try. Let’s see what each one has created by hopping from one blog to another!

Here is what I came up with: a masculine Valentines shutter card!

I used this tutorial from StampInTexas to make my shutter card. It’s very easy to make and I’ll make more in the future because they are really fun! I did not want to play with traditional Valentines colours, because my husband likes more masculine colours and patterns.

I used Sahara Sand cardstock as the card base. The front panels were stamped in Pacific Point, Marina Mist and Sahara Sand, with a stamp I never used before: the “angle” one from the Dotty Angles set. I have been wondering how to use it from quite a long time, so I’m really chuffed to bit to have found a nice project for it. I like to use all the stamps from a stamp set and I frequently use the “dotty” stamp, so now I feel happy 🙂

The inside is made with another panel, stamped in the same colours as above, but this time the little dotty lines are from the Watercolour Wings stamp set. The panel was die cut with a circle, to create a window for my sentiment, wich is die cut too with a smaller circle.

The “shutter” part is made with two banner die cuts in Pacific Point. They show the sentiment when you open the card!

Lastly, a Sahara Sand belly band holds everything together. I added two stars in Pacific Point and Marina Mist and another sentiment from Watercolor Wings. The stars have been decorated with a blue gel pen.

That’s it! Now I hope my photo addict husband will like it! 🙂

A little gift for you… (decorated envelope)

Hello there!

Last week a crafty friend of mine and I exchanged some trading cards for our kids, so I sent her a little package. Of course it had to be pretty 🙂

Funny thing, this is the first time I actually made an envelope with the Envelope punch board, as I always used it to make boxes! How fun is that!

Here is my decorated envelope:

The package consists of the envelope and a little card in front. A paper stripe with a big butterfly holds everything together.

On the card, I stamped the little butterflies from the Perpetual Calendar in Blushing Bride on Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment comes from the set One Big Meaning. I like that I can hide it under the paper stripe 🙂

The envelope is stamped tone on tone with the dots from Dotty Angles.

The butterfly die cut from the Butterfly Thinlits is one of my favourite. I love how intricate it is. I put a heart rhinestone on the center. The sentiment “For You” comes from the Circle of Spring.

I really like how it all turned out. It is sweet and delicate, perfect for a very nice lady 🙂

Enveloppe décorée… pour toi.

Coucou !

La semaine dernière, j’ai échangé avec une amie creafteuse des cartes de collection pour nos enfants, alors je lui ai envoyé un petit paquet. Evidemment, il fallait que je le décore… 🙂

Chose amusante, c’est la première fois que j’ai effectivement fait une enveloppe avec la planche Insta’Enveloppe de Stampin’Up!, d’habitude je ne fais que des boites !

Voici mon enveloppe décorée :

L’ensemble est composé de l’enveloppe et d’une carte insérée dans la bande de papier avec le papillon qui retient le tout.

Sur la carte j’ai tamponné les petits papillons du set Calendrier Perpétuel, couleur Fleur de Cerisier sur du papier Murmure Blanc. Le sentiment vient du set Le Sens de la Reconnaissance. J’ai trouvé sympa qu’il puisse être caché par la bande de papier, comme ça ça fait un petit message surprise…

L’enveloppe est tamponnée en ton sur ton avec les petits pois de Dotty Angles.

Vous aurez reconnu la découpe papillon du set Butterfly Thinlits, qui est l’un de mes préférés. J’adore son délicat côté ajouré. Le sentiment “Pour toi” vient du set Cercle Printanier, un autre parmi mes préférés.

Je suis vraiment satisfaite du rendu final… c’est doux et délicat, parfait pour une amie très agréable 🙂

Christmas Swap part 3: Surprise Explosion Box

Hello 🙂

Today I’ll show you the last part of my Christmas Swap. You can see the stamped scarf here and the card here.

The 4th item being a chocolate teddy bear, I had to make a surprise for my 3rd creation. Well, that kept me wondering for quite a long time: what actually is a surprise? I had no details on how to interpret the cue word. I came to the conclusion that it’s something you don’t expect (I know, I know… 😉 ). So I decided to make something that wouldn’t look like what it really was… I remembered my friend’s Valérie beautiful explosion box and decided to create my own version:

The pop of the Real Red bow is one part of the surprise, as the rest of my swap is quite monochromatic. I used the score board to create my explosion box in Marina Mist cardstock and decorated it with the background stamp Dotty Angles in two shades of blue, Marina Mist and Soft Sky. The sentiment comes from last year’s Sale-a-Bration SU stamp, but it was too perfect to not use it.

The lid makes the explosion box sturdy enough, and the Whisper White panels make it even sturdier. The cute little bow is, of course, made with the bow builder punch.

Here is the inside:

Again, pops of red with the Petite Petals flowers and the rhinestones on the butterflies. I coloured them with alcohol markers 🙂

The inside white panels are decorated with ferns and splatters from Awesomely Artistic stamp set. The butterflies were cut with the Bold Butterflies thinlit dies and the Butterfly thinlit dies. The sentiment insides means “The best is yet to come” and it comes from the eponymous stamp set.

(Love this little bow! 🙂 )

The tiny box was made with the Envelope Punch Board, and the gift bag with the Gift Bag Punch Board. I used Dotty Angles to decorate the Gift Bag.

The sentiment comes from the stamp set “One Big Meaning”. The tag is made with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.

Hello!

Today’s card is about textures. I wanted to have different materials on the same card, so I used felt for softness, embossing powder for relief and vellum to add a bit of depth. The card in itself is pretty simple :

 

 

I die-cut the star using the star framelit, then gold embossed the feathers on vanilla paper and vellum (you can’t really tell on the photo but one of them is actually embossed on vellum). The dots on the background and the sentiment are gold embossed too. I tried to hide the glue dots to stick the vellum on some of the dots and behind the star and feathers, to make sure it doesn’t show too much through.

The result is a soft and yet shiny card, perfect to whom it was intended 😉
