Fancy Folds Blog Hop #2: Gatefold Card

Fancy Folds Design TeamToday is our second blog hop, and we’re showing a Gatefold Card ! This one is really easy to make and it brings a bit of novelty for the person who receives the card.

If you’re coming from the talented Tanja, then you’re already hopping. If not, you can find all the blogs list at the end of this post. You don’t want to miss one as everybody’s got some fabulous cards to show you!

Here is what I came up with: a card for a baby!

Shimmer and Shine - Fancy Folds Blog Hop - Gatefold Card - Your baby is big news! - Honeycomb Happiness, Awesomely Artistic, Big News, Circle of Spring

I found the egg shape on Pinterest, printed it on a Soft Sky cardstock and fussy cut it. I sponged the edges with Soft Sky ink and also stamped little droplets from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set to make it look like a real egg. I stamped “Congratulations” in Marina Mist, from the set “Big News”. The bow comes from the Circle of Spring stamp set and it has been die cut with the Wonderful Wreath coordinating dies. The ferns are from Awesomely Artistic, they have been stamped in Pear Pizzaz, like the bow.

The gatefold card in itself is made with Crumb Cake cardstock and the lovely Love Blossoms DSP.

Inside comes a sentiment from Big News in Pear Pizzaz, on a white panel. The DSP is also Love Blossoms. The cutest little chickadee ever is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Promarkers. It sits on a fern nest 🙂

I think that’s a really cute way to celebrate a birth, or even create a card for Easter with the little chickadee… I absolutely love it 🙂

I made a “girly” version, I’ll show it later…

Do you like it? 🙂

Pour Toi – Stampin’up! Ruche de Bonheur SAB 2016

Coucou !

Shimmer and Shine - For You - Stampin'up, Honeycomb Happiness, Awesomely Artistic, Circle Spring

Shimmer and Shine - For You - Stampin'up, Honeycomb Happiness, Awesomely Artistic, Circle Spring

Produits :

  • Tampons : Ruche de Bonheur, Awesomely Artistic, Cercle Printanier

For You – Stampin’up! Honeycomb Happiness

Hi!

Today I’m entering a card for the Color Throwdown challenge #376. I was attracted by the lovely sweet colours:

CTswatch376

I decided to play with the cute chick from Stampin’up! SAB free gift Honeycomb Happiness:

Shimmer and Shine - For You - Stampin'up, Honeycomb Happiness, Awesomely Artistic, Circle Spring

The card base is a Crumb Cake cardstock. I’ve used the stripes mask for my background, with a sponge dauber and pool party ink. Crumb cake droplets for the awesome Awesomely artistic make a messy background for the cutest chick ever with her balloon. Both chick and balloon have been coloured with alcohol markers and then fussy cut.

Shimmer and Shine - For You - Stampin'up, Honeycomb Happiness, Awesomely Artistic, Circle Spring

A vellum mat adds some sweetness to the whole card, while the sentiment from Circle Spring has been heat embossed on back cardstock for a constrating effect. The balloon received a coat of Wink of Stella and Crystal Effect and some touches of white gel pen to create the light reflection.

Here is the inside:

Hope you like it 🙂

Christmas Swap part 3: Surprise Explosion Box

Hello 🙂

Today I’ll show you the last part of my Christmas Swap. You can see the stamped scarf here and the card here.

The 4th item being a chocolate teddy bear, I had to make a surprise for my 3rd creation. Well, that kept me wondering for quite a long time: what actually is a surprise? I had no details on how to interpret the cue word. I came to the conclusion that it’s something you don’t expect (I know, I know… 😉 ). So I decided to make something that wouldn’t look like what it really was… I remembered my friend’s Valérie beautiful explosion box and decided to create my own version:

Shimmer and Shine - Christmas Swap part 3 : Surprise Explosion Box - #StampinUp, #Bold #Butterfly, #Bow #Builder #Punch, #Awesomely #Artistic, #Dotty #Angles, #Best is Yet to come

The pop of the Real Red bow is one part of the surprise, as the rest of my swap is quite monochromatic. I used the score board to create my explosion box in Marina Mist cardstock and decorated it with the background stamp Dotty Angles in two shades of blue, Marina Mist and Soft Sky. The sentiment comes from last year’s Sale-a-Bration SU stamp, but it was too perfect to not use it.

Shimmer and Shine - Christmas Swap part 3 : Surprise Explosion Box - #StampinUp, #Bold #Butterfly, #Bow #Builder #Punch, #Awesomely #Artistic, #Dotty #Angles, #Best is Yet to come

The lid makes the explosion box sturdy enough, and the Whisper White panels make it even sturdier. The cute little bow is, of course, made with the bow builder punch.

Here is the inside:

Again, pops of red with the Petite Petals flowers and the rhinestones on the butterflies. I coloured them with alcohol markers 🙂

The inside white panels are decorated with ferns and splatters from Awesomely Artistic stamp set. The butterflies were cut with the Bold Butterflies thinlit dies and the Butterfly thinlit dies. The sentiment insides means “The best is yet to come” and it comes from the eponymous stamp set.

(Love this little bow! 🙂 )

So this was my surprise item and that finishes my Christmas Swap. I hope you liked it 🙂 Sadly I forgot to take a picture with all my presents…

Supplies:

  • Stamps : Awesomely Artistic, The Best is Yet to Come, Dotty Angles, (Retired) Grande Journée (sentiment),
  • Dies: Butterfly thinlits, Bold Butterfly thinlit dies,
  • Punch: Bow Builder punch, Petite Petals
  • Inks: Marina Mist, Soft Sky,
  • Papers: Marina Mist, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Embellishment: Basic Jewels Rhinestones
  • Tool: Score Board

Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Swap part 2: the Card

Hi there!

If you visited my blog yesterday, you know that I’m sharing the Christmas Swap I made for someone living in the Center of France. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can have a look at my first project here. So, after the handmade project, I had to make a card. Of course, because of my central theme, it had to be blue and have a butterfly. But I also wanted it to have a “christmassy” feel, or at least wintery. Butterflies are not usually linked with winter, so I had to find a way to add some kind of… “frozen” effect to it.

Shimmer and Shine - Christmas Swap part 2 : Butterfly card with a wintery look

Ok, maybe not so “wintery”, but I tried 😉

The beautiful rhododendron flower and the butterfly are from the Best Is Yet To Come stamp set. I coloured them with alcohol markers in shades of artic blue and ice grey. I added some Dazzling Details to the flowers and the wings of the butterfly. The background is made with a stamp from another set, Awesomely Artistic, in Soft Sky ink. Then the “Joy” die cut comes from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies, on Silver Glimmer Paper.

Shimmer and Shine - Christmas Swap part 2 : Butterfly card with a wintery look

I tried to take a photo without the flash, to show the real colours and the shimmery effect. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of the inside, which is decorated too.

Supplies (all Stampin’up! unless otherwise stated):

  • Stamp Set: Best is yet to come, Awesomely Artistic
  • Dies: Wonderful Wreath,
  • Paper: Whisper White cardstock, Marina Mist cardstock, Silver Glimmer Paper

Thanks for visiting! See you tomorrow for the last part of my Christmas Swap!

Have a fantastic New Year’s Eve!

Friend mini gift bag

Hello!

Today I’m playing with the Poulettes Team, Marie gave us a fun combo to play with:

12308439_10153138466161302_377986472173347896_n

So here is what I came up with:

Shimmer and Shine - #Stampinup, #Awesomely #Artistic, #Gift #Bag #Punch #Board

I used the beautiful set Awesomely Artistic to decorate the mini gift bag (10 cm high) made with the punch board. I added a drop of Black Perfect Pearl to the center of the flowers to give a bit of shine and texture. The ribbon comes from my stash.

Supplies:

Stamps: SU Awesomely Artistic

Inks : Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede

Paper: SU Whisper White

Embellishment: Black Perfect Pearl

Mini pochette cadeau “Friend”

Hello!

Shimmer and Shine - #Stampinup, #Awesomely #Artistic, #Gift #Bag #Punch #Board
