If you want to get ready for the Holidays, please follow our blog hop and enjoy all the beautiful creations we’ve made especially for you!

If you’re coming from my beloved friend Tracy May, you’re already hopping, fantastic! otherwise, please click on the blog list to start.

Here is what I came up with: bear hugs for everybody !

Shimmer and Shine - Bear Hugs - Dream Theme Blog Hop : Christmas

I used Fa-la-la-la Friends from Stampin’up, with the coordinating dies. I love the festive fish lol, had to make it the star of my background 😉 The bears were coloured with Promarkers. The little star comes from the Totally Trees stamp set.

This is the inside. I like to create a matching inside, I think it gives a really nice finishing touch.

A little close-up to see Daddy Bear and Baby Bear in their not-so-ugly sweaters and pajamas ? Aren’t they cute?

Sparkly Noël

Hello!

I’m usually not a “sketch” kind of girl. I honestly struggle to follow a sketch, but when I saw the creations of the other “Poulettes”, I had to give it a try.

Of course, I did not follow the sketch exactly, but you can still recognise it, right? right???

Here is the sketch:

and here is what I created…

Shimmer and Shine - Sparkly Noël - #StampinUp, #Wonderful #Wreath, #Petite #Petal #Punch, #Pansy Punch, #Cottage #Greetings

Let’s say some elements decided to move to other parts of the cards 😉

Here is a close-up:

Shimmer and Shine - Sparkly Noël - #StampinUp, #Wonderful #Wreath, #Petite #Petal #Punch, #Pansy Punch, #Cottage #Greetings

Too bad I didn’t have any beautiful Gold Soirée DSP from SU, it would have been great… I had to find a way to “fake” some, so I made the golden stripes by hand, with a ruler and a gel pen… 😉

Shimmer and Shine - Sparkly Noël - #StampinUp, #Wonderful #Wreath, #Petite #Petal #Punch, #Pansy Punch, #Cottage #Greetings

I like how intricate this Noël die from Wonderful Wreath is… The “Joyeux” is from another set, “Cottage Greetings”. The little star-flowers are from Wonderful wreath too, I think it goes very well with the Petite Petals punch, doesn’t it?

Supplies (Stampin’up):

  • Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Gold Glimmer paper, gold foil sheets
  • Inks: (not SU) Delicata Golden Glitz
  • Die: Wonderful Wreath, Circles
  • Punch: Pansy, Petite Petals
  • Embellishment: (not SU) Uniball Gold gel pen, (not SU) black pearls

Thanks for visiting!

7th Poulettes’ blog hop: advent calendar

Hello,

I was supposed to show you the advent calendar I was making, but like most of the people of France, I spent the weekend terror-stricken by the massacres that occurred on Friday evening in Paris. I was in Paris myself an hour before the first shooting happened. My heart is aching at the moment. I’m lucky not to have lost any friend directly, but I know at least 3 different people who’ve lost friends or relatives, and everyone is in mourning at the moment. My creative mojo is currently down and I couldn’t finish the advent calendar.

I know that making something is a way to heal, because that’s precisely one of my media when I work as a social worker. But for now, I’ll just post this picture that sums up my feelings, and I let you discover what the other girls in the blog hop have created.

Thank you for reading anyway, I hope I’ll be back soon with a much more optimistic post.

You can visit now Valérie’s blog or go back to Didine’s blog.

Best wishes

Hello!

Today’s card is about textures. I wanted to have different materials on the same card, so I used felt for softness, embossing powder for relief and vellum to add a bit of depth. The card in itself is pretty simple :

Shimmer and Shine - Gold Feathers and Felt Star wishes #Stampinup #FourFeathers #Star

I die-cut the star using the star framelit, then gold embossed the feathers on vanilla paper and vellum (you can’t really tell on the photo but one of them is actually embossed on vellum). The dots on the background and the sentiment are gold embossed too. I tried to hide the glue dots to stick the vellum on some of the dots and behind the star and feathers, to make sure it doesn’t show too much through.

Shimmer and Shine - Gold Feathers and Felt Star wishes #Stampinup #FourFeathers #Star

The result is a soft and yet shiny card, perfect to whom it was intended 😉

Supplies (Stampin’Up!):

  • Stamp set: Four Feathers, Dotty Angles, Quelques lignes
  • Inks: Metallic Gold Encore pad, Versamark
  • Embossing powder: Gold Stampin’Emboss Powder
  • Dies: Star Framelit Dies, Four Feathers
  • Papers: Very Vanilla, White vellum

Joyeux Noël – Merry Christmas

Hi!

I know, three posts in a row, how crazy is that? 🙂 Well my mojo seems to have kicked back, and a little more time for myself makes it possible to enjoy crafting again…

Today’s card is a CASE from a card made by the very talented Yukari Yoshioka. You can see her stunning card here. I have kept pretty much the same design but I adapted a few things to make it a shaker card.

Shimmer and Shine - Joyeux Noël #StampinUp #Christmas #Trees #Silver #Red #ShakerCard

For the background, I wanted to have the same soft effect as in Yuki’s card, so I stamped the littlest snowflake in Versamark, then embossed it with White embossing powder on Smoky Slate cardstock. The background was then covered with vellum. I absolutely adore this effect, very winter-y 🙂

I draw the “hills” and hand-cut them, adding faux-stitching with a silver gel pen. The sentiment comes from the “Quelques lignes” stamp set and has received the same Versamark / silver embossing powder treatment as the trees. The trees were then punched with the Tree Punch. The little star was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and received a coat of Dazzling Details to give a bit of shine.

I added several foam adhesives to get different layers for the hills and the trees. I made a frame with a piece of acetate to close my shaker card. When I added the sequins, I remembered a trick given by the crafty goddess Jennifer McGuire in one of her amazing videos: to glue some sequins on the background, so that when the card stands up, there are a few sequins still visible… how clever is that?

I hope you like it 🙂 your comments are always welcome!

Supplies (Stampin’Up!):

  • Stamp set: Many Merry Stars, Quelques lignes (sentiment)
  • Inks: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler
  • Embossing powder: Silver Stampin’ Emboss powder, White Stampin’ Emboss powder
  • Dies: Tree Punch
  • Papers: Whisper White cardstock, Smoky Slate cardstock, Window sheets (acetate), White vellum
  • Accent: Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Stampin’ Dazzle Marker Silver
  • Non Stampin’Up : Sequins

Christmas tree 2014

Not paper related but I love Christmas trees so much … I really enjoy this time of the year, and having children definitely bring back the magic of the season (despite the crappy weather we’re having in Paris) :

What about you, do you enjoy decorating your Christmas tree too?
