A little gift for you… (decorated envelope)

Hello there!

Last week a crafty friend of mine and I exchanged some trading cards for our kids, so I sent her a little package. Of course it had to be pretty 🙂

Funny thing, this is the first time I actually made an envelope with the Envelope punch board, as I always used it to make boxes! How fun is that!

Here is my decorated envelope:

Shimmer and Shine - For you : Decorated envelope - #StampinUp, #Envelope #Punch #Board, #Butterflies Thinlits, #Perpetual #Calendar, #Spring #Circle, #Dotty Angles

The package consists of the envelope and a little card in front. A paper stripe with a big butterfly holds everything together.

Shimmer and Shine - For you : Decorated envelope - #StampinUp, #Envelope #Punch #Board, #Butterflies Thinlits, #Perpetual #Calendar, #Spring #Circle, #Dotty Angles

On the card, I stamped the little butterflies from the Perpetual Calendar in Blushing Bride on Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment comes from the set One Big Meaning. I like that I can hide it under the paper stripe 🙂

The envelope is stamped tone on tone with the dots from Dotty Angles.

Shimmer and Shine - For you : Decorated envelope - #StampinUp, #Envelope #Punch #Board, #Butterflies Thinlits, #Perpetual #Calendar, #Spring #Circle, #Dotty Angles

Shimmer and Shine - For you : Decorated envelope - #StampinUp, #Envelope #Punch #Board, #Butterflies Thinlits, #Perpetual #Calendar, #Spring #Circle, #Dotty Angles

The butterfly die cut from the Butterfly Thinlits is one of my favourite. I love how intricate it is. I put a heart rhinestone on the center. The sentiment “For You” comes from the Circle of Spring.

I really like how it all turned out. It is sweet and delicate, perfect for a very nice lady 🙂

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Perpetual Calendar, Dotty Angles, Spring Circle, One Big Meaning
  • Dies: Butterfly Thinlits Dies
  • Inks: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Papers: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride
  • Tool: Envelope Punch Board

Purple Peony

Hello!

My card for today shows the beautiful peony from “You’ve got this” stamp set. In real life, peonies are one of my favourite flowers so I had to have this stamp 🙂

Shimmer and Shine - Purple Peony - #StampinUp #YouveGotThis, #OneBigMeaning

First I stamped the peony in Memento Tuxedo Black, to be able to colour it with alcohol markers. I used various shades to give a more realistic look. Then I fussy cut it.

Shimmer and Shine - Purple Peony - #StampinUp #YouveGotThis, #OneBigMeaning

To create the background, I stamped the peony multiple times, carefully removing the ink on the stem. Then I coloured all around the flowers with a very light grey alcohol marker. I die cut some leaves in white cardstock and vellum, created a banner for my sentiment and mounted the purple peony with foam adhesives. A few sequins were added to give the mandatory bit of shine.

I hope you like it 🙂

A Big Thank You – from cardigan to paper

Hi there!

The card I share today is the paper “transcription” from my daughters’ cardigans… how fun is that? Inspiration really strikes anywhere, any time 🙂

Shimmer and Shine - A big Thank You : from cardigan to paper - #StampinUp, #Butterflies Thinlits dies, #Circle of #Spring

Here you can have a look at the cardigan. The collar has silver glitter on it, so I kept this on my design with a silver glitter stripe.

Shimmer and Shine - A big Thank You : from cardigan to paper - #StampinUp, #Butterflies Thinlits dies, #Circle of #Spring

I really love this big bold tone on tone butterfly… so pretty! The sentiment is silver embossed. I added a bow from a silver string I found in my drawer.

Floral Thanks in 3 colours – New Catalogue 2015-2016

Hello!

The new 2015-2016 Stampin’Up! Catalogue is available, and it’s full of beautiful stamps, dies, punches, ribbons and so many other lovely products!

As a demonstrator, we got the privilege to order a few products before the official release, and today’s cards use the stunning flower of “You’ve got this” stamp set.

I chose to colour the flowers with alcohol markers, but you could totally play with watercolour (wich I intent to do later) to get a softer effect. I made three cards, in yellow tones, peach tones and velvet red tones. All three cards are made the same, mated on kraft cardstock and a soft background of little leaves from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set stamped with Baked Brown Sugar ink. The flowers are fussy cut and mounted with foam adhesive. A few rhinestones coloured with alcohol markers complete the cards.

In yellow:

In peach:

Thanks for being there

Hello there!

I’m very sorry I’ve been away for so long… I had a good reason for that: we were moving again! As my due date is approaching for baby #3, we decided to move in a house farther from Paris. Space… Countryside… Friends and family around… I am sooo happy right now, it was worth all the pain to be moving so quickly after coming back to France last August!

So of course with all the boxes to pack, I had very little time to craft. And I’ve been craving it a lot! Some evenings though, I could find the energy to stamp and create anything. Here is one of my creations, and it fits perfectly with my spirit at the moment: even if I haven’t posted lately, some of you continue to come visit my blog, and it warms my heart. I’m thankful for that, and that’s precisely the sentiment on my card: “thanks for being there”

Shimmer and Shine - Thanks for being there #StampinUp, #Sheltering #Tree, #Arbre #Protecteur

It’s a very simple card but I find sometimes simplicity is the best way to express your feelings…

Shimmer and Shine - Thanks for being there #StampinUp, #Sheltering #Tree, #Arbre #Protecteur

The card base is from Crumb Cake, the little flowers from Sheltering Tree are the star of the show in their humble way and to put them into relief I matted the white cardstock with Real Red. A ribbon from my stash and a few drops of Dazzling Details on the flowers give a nice finish to the card. Simple and pretty. Hope you like it 🙂

Supplies (Stampin’Up!):

  • Stamp set: Sheltering Tree
  • Inks: Real Read, Pink Pirouette
  • Papers: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Embellishment : Dazzling Details

Polka Dotted Merci

Hi!

Hope you had a lovely weekend so far 🙂

Today’s card started with some inks and Stampin’Up!’s decorative mask. I didn’t know where I was going, I just wanted to have a play ^^

I looked for a color scheme on Pinterest and chose this one:

color scheme

I looked for the corresponding ink pads I got, and selected Bashful Blue (the lightest shade of Blue I had, wish I had Soft Sky, I think it would have matched better with the one on the picture), Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Sahara Sand. I carefully taped my mask to make sure it wouldn’t move and randomly sponged inks to create colourful dots. Once I had the dotted background, I figured out what to do with it… put it against a Sahara Sand paper as my card base: yes, that works. But it needed to be put into relief, so I added to fine stripes of Tempting Turquoise to make it stand.

The photos are a bit dark, thanks to this lovely weather we have at the moment in Paris… 😦

Shimmer and Shine - Polka Dotted Merci #StampinUp, #Dots, #DecorativeMasks, #FabuleuxQuatuor

Ok, then? What about a sentiment? but where to put it, because of this busy background? I had the idea of splitting my dotted background in two to reveal the sentiment directly on the card base. I chose a “thank you” sentiment from Fabuleux Quatuor, bold enough to compete with the dots, and to make sure it would stand, I stamped it in Soft Suede, a darker brown. I used the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig and a post-it note to stamp only the “merci” on the front card, reserving the rest of the sentiment for the inside. Then I mounted the dotted paper on foam tape and added some alcohol markers coloured pearls around the sentiment. I decorated the inside of the card with the same techniques.

Shimmer and Shine - Polka Dotted Merci #StampinUp, #Dots, #DecorativeMasks, #FabuleuxQuatuor

I really like to create my own backgrounds. The funny thing is I love DSP too and tend to hoard them, but I get so mad at the idea of cutting the sheets that I never use them… how crazy is that! Please tell me I’m not the only one to do this 😉

Supplies (Stampin’Up!):

  • Stamp set: Fabuleux Quatuor
  • Inks: Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Real Red, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay
  • Papers: Sahara Sand, Tempting Turquoise
  • Stencil: Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks
  • tools: Sponge Daubers, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig

Sale-a-Bration swap

Hello !

Today I’d like to share a card I made for a swap between Stampin’Up! Demonstrators. We were supposed to use only Sale-a-Bration items, and I tried to stretch my stamps to get something different. I liked it, but it was too much time-consuming because of the little hearts background (I made it just before Christmas) to make it multiple times for the swap!

So I went with another design, much quicker, that I’ll share later. I used the same stamp set as in this card : Eurêka.

Shimmer and Shine - #Eureka #SaleaBration #StampinUp

I started to stamp the sentiment in Tempting Turquoise but I masked off the “Merci” part with a little sticky note, in order to stamp it again later in Blackberry Bliss. With the Stamp-a-ma-jig this is very easy. I hand-cut the tag but you can get the coordinating punch to make it in a breeze 🙂

For the background I used the tiny heart chain that comes in the set. I carefully draw lines with my pencil before on the Whisper White cardstock, and again used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure I would stamp them all lined up. Then I die-cut the cardstock with one of the banner framelit die. I die-cut a bigger framelit banner in vellum and added faux-stitching with my gel pen. I kept the base of the card pretty simple as I thought the banners were already quite busy. The heart banner was stuck on the vellum using snail adhesive and that allowed me to see where I could hide my adhesive for the vellum, as I didn’t want it to show through. The sentiment has been popped-up with foam adhesive, et voilà 🙂

Supplies (Stampin’Up!):

  • Stamp set: Sale-A-Bration Eurêka (free with 60€/45£ orders! available from the 6th of January)
  • Inks: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise
  • Dies: Banner Framelit Dies
  • Papers: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, White vellum

  • Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig
