Love and kisses

Happy Valentine’s day!

I like to try to “stretch my stamps”, in order to find new uses for them: as I don’t own many Stampin’Up! stamps (yet), it helps to be creative anyway. Today’s card begun with the little “kiss” heart that belongs to “You brighten my day” stamp set.

I made a background with this heart and another tiny one from “Oh Whale” (retired) stamp set. The “kiss” heart is stamped in Real Red whereas the tiny one is stamped in Blushing Bride. Of course, the Stamp-a-ma-jig was involved to make sure I stamped in the right place to create an even background.

Next I die-cut a heart in Real Red cardstock that has been mounted with foam pads. Then I die-cut 4 times the word “Love” with the old (retired) Expression Thinlits in Basic Black cardstock. I glued them all together to make it sturdy enough and added a coat of Cristal Effect for shininess. The word has been glued on both sides of the heart, and tiny bits of foam adhesive carefuly hidden help to keep the die cut raised.

I tried to switch off the flash, so you can actually see the depth of the whole card… (I really want to improve my photography skills!)
