Hi there!
Today’s card is one that I intended to give to my friend Tracy, to thank her for the wonderful times I had at her classes. She’s such a great lady, and a great demo 🙂
To create a negative die cut with a striped background, you just have to cut several strips of different colours of paper and stick them on a thin piece of paper. Then you mount your negative die-cut paper, with all the little bits and pieces from the letters (“h”, “k”, etc) that you’ll have to put back in place with a tiny bit of foam tape. Tricky when this tiny bit sticks to your finger more than to the paper, but it’s worth it 😉 A few clear sequins complete the card.
So my card is (almost) full of Stampin’Up products in Tracy’s honour, and I tried to get out of my comfort zone with the colours. Not easy… I was not happy at first and I’ve done what I learnt works best for me in this case : leave this card for a day or two, do something else, and the crafting Mojo will kick back with an idea to get it better!
And that’s what happened once again. I had first layered my word on a white card base and found it was a bit too blend, not a happy card at all. Then I tried to mount it on a Calypso Coral and shazam! There it worked 🙂 Nice and cheery!

What a fun card … the font of the die cut word is so playful and I love the sense of extra movement you’ve created with the sequins! Hi Delphine, only just found the piece of paper with your blog name (we met at Tracy’s class). Lovely card- its amazing how the mat/layering can make an image pop. Good luck with the move.
